i wanted to go to the bat for lashes concert tonight, but alas, i waited to long to check for tickets, and of course it was sold out.

so instead i decided to go see a movie, and the only convienient one was '500 Days Of Summer.' i didn't expect to see a heart, but i did. zoey deschanel's character, summer, has a heart mole on her neck. i wish i could find a picture of it, but there doesn't seem to be one online just yet.

anyway, go see the movie! its a cute/sad/realistic/funny look at love/dating/relationships.

far better than any rom-com.

une vieille maitresse, or in english, The Last Mistress was playing at the ifc center late year and i decided to check it out because the plot seemed interesting and i had been reading about it's controversial director catherine breillat. it's story of a spanish lady and her young french lover and their tumultuous love affair set in 19th century france. the story line is hot (talk about f'ed up passion and addiction), but what stole the show for me were the visuals, specifically Fu'ad Ait Aattou the male lead. see below.

gorgeous men + fantastic suits = me + drool + swoon

if you think that his pictures are enough to make you swoon, think about seeing his lovely face on a 20 foot movie screen. if you aren't lucky enough to find a showing in your local theater, i'll give you the next best thing. the trailer, see him in action below in all his beautiful french glory.
